Digital Copy. Blu-ray™ Blu-ray 3D™ A Digital Copy is a digital version of the full-length movie that you get when you own specially-marked Blu-ray™/DVD discs bearing the “Digital” logo.

Blu-Ray is 1080p HD, while DVD can only achieve 480p SD. That's a huge difference in picture quality. Blu-Rays are also capable of much better sound and colours, plus they have a larger storage capacity than DVD so they can often fit more content on the discs.

High-definition (HD) video may be stored on Blu-ray Discs with up to 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution, at 24& 50/60 progressive or 50/60 interlaced frames per second. DVD discs were limited to a maximum resolution of 480 (NTSC, 720×480 pixels) or 576 lines (CCIR 625/50, 720×576 pixels, commonly used with PAL).

When you choose DVD or Blu-ray, the Blu-ray is the better format in terms of audio and video, it's easy to see why it's more desirable than a DVD. While a DVD may be promoted as being HD, it's not going to offer the same audio and visual appeal as a Blu-ray, especially if it's on a single-layer disc.

A DVD will only be able to store about 4.7 GB of data, which equals about two hours of a movie. A Blu-ray can hold about 25 GB of data, which allows for more high-definition information. It can hold about 13 hours of standard definition information or about two hours of high-definition information.

The Blu-Ray has an HD picture commonly referred to as 1080p. This means that there are 1080 horizontal lines that make up the picture in comparison to the traditional 576 lines that are used on a standard-definition DVD. The added resolution allows the images to look sharper and more realistic.

A DVD is a standard definition device. You won't get high-definition movie viewing on your DVD, just 480 SD. On the other hand, Blu-ray is made for HD, and you'll get the best picture possible, with 1080 HD capability for your Blu-ray movies. So if you are looking for a quality picture, Blue Ray is the clear winner.

Hi-Def DVD: Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD player technologies. On paper most will concede, that at its best, Blu-Ray has the advantage over HD-DVD in technology. Both formats have the info recorded at 1080p, although early HD-DVD players (notably the first - the Toshiba), only offers 1080i output, not 1080p.

Higher quality As we've stated, the audio and video files are stored directly on the Blu-ray disk. This allows for a much higher audio and video quality than would be available on a streaming service. Films on streaming services are far more compressed than those on Blu-ray disks.

The HD blu-ray edition features the Dolby Atmos mix, 7.1 PCM and 2.0 PCM stereo sound, while the DVD offers 5.1 and 2.0 Dolby Digital. These also have English SDH, Spanish and French subtitles. The Beatles Get Back will be released on 11 July 2022.
