This happened in part because of gravity. Like many Junior golfers when Ricky was young he lacked the arm strength required to move the club the way he wanted to. So instead he just kept turning.

And fortune in the first place. It's not an easy question to answer probably. Even for Fowler himself. Turning down a massive lump sum paycheck. Isn't easy for anyone.

Different brands have approached Rickie Fowler during his career to offer a sponsorship, and to date, this are the ones he's affiliated with: Titleist, Taylor Made, Rolex, Puma, Mercedes-Benz and Rocket Mortgage. For the deals he's made with them, he has gained $12 million.

Fowler has been part of the PUMA family since he first turned professional in 2009. Rickie is the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic winner.

Whereas in Rickie's old takeaway the clubhead would move outside, he wants the club to feel more "connected" to his body, so it tracks parallel to his target line. From there, instead of rolling the club open and around him like in his old swing, Rickie wants to move the club more vertically up, towards the sky.

But your head definitely kind of leads the charge. Yeah. So we want our head to to stay back. And it will actually it. Won't move that way but I want you to feel like it's moving that way backwards.

That's a big part of it. He's a five-time PGA Tour winner who's on the cusp of No. 6. Fowler's leading the U.S. Open by a stroke through three rounds at Los Angeles Country Club, and everyone loves a front-runner.

Fowler thought it was a “bummer” that this couldn't have happened three years ago when all of this started. The former Oklahoma State Cowboy has never been one of the players that opposed LIV Golf. Rumors surrounded him leaving for the rival Tour the last couple years, but Fowler ultimately stayed with the PGA Tour.

When asked if he came close to joining LIV, Fowler said: "No, no, no. I just looked at it and wanted to learn as much as I could." Fowler's concluded that the PGA Tour had no equal. He still believes that but said after last week everything is back to "square one."
