You must select a reason for the deactivation and then select "Clear your return and restart". (This can only be done if you have not made a payment and/or filed a return) Clearing your return will remove all current year information so you can start over.

You cannot recover a tax return once deleted, so make sure the correct tax return is selected.

1. Go to Clients > Client List and find the required client.
2. From the applicable tax widget on the client dashboard, select the required return.
3. Select the Client/Case details tab, then select Delete tax return.

To remove a business return, from the Quick Menu of TaxSlayer Pro select:

1. Business.
2. Business Utilities.
3. Remove Business Return - Enter the EIN of the return to be removed or select it from the list, then select OK.
4. You will be asked if you are sure you want to delete the return(s).

If your account has an e-filed return, whether it was rejected or accepted, the account cannot be deleted. Accounts that have prior year accepted or rejected e-filed returns also cannot be deleted. The IRS requires we retain this information for a period of 3 years after the tax filing year.

Then go to tax tools in the left hand menu. And select clear and start over finally confirm that you're sure.

I need to delete my file went to h&r block. You can't delete an account. You can clear your return if you haven't paid or registered by clicking on My Account then Clear and Start Over.

Ensure that the Tax Return is the correct one and that you wish to delete it, then click Delete Tax Return. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete the return. WARNING: Deleted Tax Returns cannot be recovered, so please take care when deleting.

Then go to tax tools in the left hand menu. And select clear and start over finally confirm that you're sure.

If you didn't claim the correct filing status or you need to change your income, deductions, or credits, you should file an amended or corrected return using Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.

You can also delete your H&R Block account completely and start over by creating a new one. Choose Account Settings in the left-hand menu and choose Delete This Account. Note that if you choose this option, you won't have access to any current or prior-year returns that were in that account.
