Children's MOTRIN® can be used for temporary relief of minor aches and pains due to the common cold, flu, sore throat, headache, and toothache, and fever reduction. What's the active ingredient in Children's MOTRIN®? Ibuprofen is the active ingredient in Children's MOTRIN®.

Ibuprofen can be safely given to infants and children over the age of 6 months for fever, pain, or discomfort. Do not give ibuprofen for longer than 72 hours without discussing your child's condition with our office.

Johnson & Johnson makes Children's Tylenol and Children's Motrin.

This form of ibuprofen is intended for use by children. Do not give this medication to a child younger than 6 months unless directed by the doctor. Check the ingredients on the label even if you have used the product before. The manufacturer may have changed the ingredients.

Motrin dosage for infants Infants' Motrin Concentrated Drops is used for children who are six to 23 months old. If your child is younger than 6 months, ask their doctor if Infants' Motrin Concentrated Drops is safe for them.

MOTRIN tablets contain the active ingredient ibuprofen, which is (±) - 2 - (p - isobutylphenyl) propionic acid. Ibuprofen is a white powder with a melting point of 74-77° C and is very Page 2 slightly soluble in water (<1 mg/mL) and readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone.

Acetaminophen – commonly known as the brand Tylenol – and ibuprofen – commonly known as the brand Motrin or Advil – are both over-the-counter medicines taken to relieve fever, aches and pain. They are both safe when used correctly, but too high a dose can make children very sick.

Children's MOTRIN Oral Suspension (ibuprofen 100 mg in 5 mL)

Give every 6 to 8 hours as needed, but never give your child more than four doses in 24 hours. If your child doesn't like the flavor, you can try a product with a different flavoring. If your child is sensitive to dyes, use a dye-free type of ibuprofen.

MOTRIN Dosing Charts for Children & Infants

Even though infants' Motrin includes dosing instructions for ages 6 months to 2 years, it's not always the best choice for your child. For children under 2, it is best to talk with your child's provider for guidance first. For most children ages 12 and older, you can follow the adult dosage.
