The Season 1 finale opened with a flashback to Ellie's birth - which had never been seen in the 2013 video game nor its 2021 sequel.

While Ramsey is a few years older than Ellie, they are still a teenager and able to capture the adolescence that Ellie possesses.

In 2038, Abby Anderson, a former Firefly and the surgeon's daughter, found and killed Joel. Ellie vowed revenge and pursued Abby to Seattle. Her efforts were fruitless, leading her to retire on a farm with her girlfriend Dina and her son JJ.
