Storyline. Amazon's 2022 Christmas ad is a heart-warming story celebrating the inventive spirit of a loving father who is inspired to create a very special and thoughtful experience for his young daughter, proving joy is something we make.

The song featured is "You Hold Me Up", a new release by US Indie artist The Bones of J.R. Jones. Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Jonathon Linaberry created the original track as a way of showing support beyond just conversation to a friend who was going through a tough time.

Mangano is the founder and CEO of Clean Boss, a company that develops and sells cleaning products. Mangano released her autobiography, Inventing Joy, in 2017. The 2015 film Joy was loosely based on her life.

JOY is a true story about the invention of the Miracle Mop. Joy is a divorced mother struggling to provide for her children and her mother and grandmother. Encouraged by her grandmother but not her own mother or father, who are divorced, Joy invents a new kind of mop to help ease the burden of housewives everywhere.

Amazon Christmas advert 2022 is directed by Taika Waititi.

The song used on the TVC is by music artist Lyra, called The Magic of Christmas.

It ends with Joy victorious, but humane, poised to continue her ascent, flanked by her ex-husband, best friend, and kids. We will never know whether Mumolo's version of Joy would have worked.

Amazon Prime's new ad, directed by actor turned filmmaker Olivia Wilde, follows a young woman debating what to do with an unwanted moustache. While at first she wants to remove it, she changes her mind when she's reminded of all of the cultural icons who have facial hair.
