The mission of the church is to know Jesus Christ and to bear the fruit of His Spirit. We only truly love in the “agape” way when we first grasp how He demonstrated His love for us – by forgiving us all our sins; by freeing us from the impossible standard of the Law; and by giving us a brand new identity in Him.

Schnabel describes mission in the early church as consisting of three elements (Paul the Missionary, 28-9) . First, the missionary communicates the good news of Jesus as the Messiah and Savior. Second, the missionary communicates a new way of life to those who respond to the good news.

The mission of the church is to glorify God by leading persons to come to know him experientially through faith in Jesus Christ. In turn, these persons become his heritage and serve as his agents to make himself known.

After all, the goal of a prayer and worship night is to lead people into an extended time of gazing upon the beauty of the Lord, so everything you do must contribute to that.

Worship is about praising God and giving to him, not receiving. God has already given us life, his Son on the cross, grace and the promise of eternal life. When we find ourselves falling into worship for our own gain, we need to come back to the heart of worship.

The Church, then, Head and members of the Body of Christ, is a Messianic people, sharing in Christ's three-fold mission of sanctifying, teaching and serving.

What Is God's Mission?

• Creation. The first act is Creation. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Gen.
• The Fall. The second act is the Fall. Just after God created the world, the Bible's story takes a dark turn.
• Redemption. The third act is Redemption.
• Restoration.

The primary function of the worship team is to lead the congregation in true worship under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is because of this that it is essential for every member of the worship team to carry with them an attitude of great expectation and faith to every service.

Worship is something we do, but it also does something to us – and it is all for God's purposes. Worship is where we come together, unified in the Body of Christ, to celebrate God and what He has done for us. In worship we offer up praise, but we also experience the presence of God, and receive communication from Him.
