Washington, DC. "Ronald McDonald, the Hamburger-Happy Clown" debuted in 1963 on three separate local television spots. The advertisements were created by the advertising agency of Oscar Goldstein, who doubled as a McDonald's franchisee in the Washington, D.C., area, and featured Willard Scott as Ronald.

Ronald McDonald is now present on Instagram, promoting McDonald's and the Ronald McDonald House charities. In 2022, McDonald's revived the beloved characters from McDonaldland with the launch of an adult Happy Meal featuring toy figurines: Grimace, the Hamburglar, and Birdie and Cactus Buddy.

Sadly, during the start of the pandemic, due to reduced staffing and a lack of dine-in traffic, the decision was made to end their super popular all-day breakfast to "provide better speed of service" to customers.

It met its demise, however, for the same reason a lot of the chain's products have been eliminated: It was a pain to make, taking about 15 minutes to bake. Now, the McPizza exists mostly as a memory but is still on the menu at one McDonald's location, in Orlando, Fla.

Taco Bell's creative agency Deutsch LA concepted the campaign, which was done in partnership with Psyop directors Luca Vitale and Kylie Matulick, who brought together a team of animators, artists, and designers, including a partnership with Tokyo anime studio Yapiko-Animation.
