Frequently Asked Questions about tonal tv spot, 'own your strength' featuring serena williams

In the press release announcing Williams' expanded relationship with the company, she said of Tonal, “It's a different way to train that challenges me and makes me a lot stronger.”

Still, Tonal is on to something, and has a laundry list of all-star investors including Amazon, LeBron James and Serena Williams. It's easy to see why they love it, but the real challenge will be getting the price to a place where it doesn't feel so heavy for the average person to lift.

That price starts at $3,995, plus tax; plus delivery and professional installation ($295); plus the “Smart Accessories” - the bar, handles, rope, bench, foam roller and workout mat that you need to do a lot of the exercises - ($495); plus a monthly membership fee ($49), which adds up to a (very) grand total of about $4,900 ...

The purpose of Tonal is to replace all types of strength training equipment -- you'll just need the one machine to get a full-body workout.

Does Tonal really work? Just like any other piece of home fitness equipment, you get out of it what you put into it. If you use the Tonal machine regularly and consistently, then, yes, you can reap a number of benefits. I found that for strength-building and high-intensity exercise, Tonal is extremely effective.

Zell says the company is “really close” to achieving profitability on an adjusted EBITDA basis following nine months of difficult choices. As for a future IPO, she says “that will be a possibility at some point in the future. Not near term, but a potential longer-term future.”

So when it comes to training, I want to get my work done,” James said. ”I want to get the most out of it, and I want to be very efficient.” Tonal gives him exactly that kind of workout productivity. “The efficiency of Tonal is second to none when it comes to strength training,” he said.

In my opinion, if you're already paying the price of Tonal, you may as well get the accessories: handles, bar, rope, bench, roller and workout mat. These really maximize what you can do during your workouts. Without them, I don't think Tonal is as great of a value. With a smart machine comes smart accessories.

“Tonal is prioritizing becoming a self-sustaining business with an emphasis on profitability,” the company told TechCrunch. “While sales have continued to grow at an unprecedented rate, so have the costs of our business, particularly in light of the macroeconomic climate and global supply chain challenges.”

Tonal is meant to be a strength training machine. The weight goes up to 200 pounds in total resistance (100 pounds each arm). However, due to the digital weights that are used, it feels much different than a typical weight machine.

While our mission is for everybody in the world to become stronger, Tonal is currently available only in the U.S. We currently do not support private Tonal relocations outside the U.S. If you want more information about when Tonal might be available in your country, please feel free to reach out using our International ...
