How to clean an air purifier

1. Turn off and unplug the air purifier.
2. Remove the filter.
3. Clean the filter using a vacuum fitted with a soft brush attachment.
4. If the design allows for it, vacuum or wipe the inside of the unit where the pre-filter sits to remove any excess dust.

The best way to tell when your HEPA filter needs replacing is with a separate air quality monitor. When you first install your air purifier, your air quality monitor should show that your purifier is doing a good job of cleaning your air. However, after some time, the filter will become clogged.

That's a minimum number, and means the purifiers would run a minimum of 4-5 years if running them for 6 hours per day. Typically, the motors last much longer. We've seen Smart Air purifiers in use 7 years after they were purchased, still working without issue.
