Vizio Inc., stylized as VIZIO, is an American publicly traded company that specializes in designing and selling TVs , soundbars, and advertising. Though being mostly popular for its television sets, Vizio also had a brief stint in the laptop and desktop market, where it released its first and only laptops in 2012. Since then, the company has not released any further laptops or desktops.

Based in Irvine, California, Vizio started in 2002 by selling low-cost flat-panel TVs. In 2007, Vizio became the largest LCD TV seller in North America and continued to be a popular brand in the TV market, amassing a broad range of loyal customers. The company eventually pivoted toward developing its proprietary smart TV operating system, Vizio SmartCast, which is built on Chromecast. Besides this, Vizio also manufactures soundbars and other home-theater audio products.

While Vizio is known for its TVs and audio products, it had a brief stint in the computer market, where it launched its first laptops in 2012. Vizio's laptop, called the Thin + Light, featured a 14-inch display, an Intel Core i7 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD. The Thin + Light was available in two models; one with a standard 1366 x 768 display resolution and another with a higher resolution 1600 x 900 display. Despite gaining praise for its sleek design and affordability, Vizio stopped producing laptops and desktops after 2012 and focused mainly on its TV and audio products.

Though Vizio is not as prominent in the computer market as it is in the TV and audio industries, the company continues to produce world-class products in its area of expertise.
