What kind of company is Draft Street?
DraftStreet was a daily fantasy sports website that operated from 2010 to 2014. The company was founded by three friends based in New York City - Mark Nerenberg, Brian Schwartz, and Matt Kalish.
DraftStreet was unique in that it offered daily fantasy contests instead of season-long contests, allowing players to draft a new team every day and win cash prizes based on their performance. The site also had a salary cap format, where players had to stay under a set budget while drafting their team.
The company gained popularity quickly, as it attracted a large number of players who were curious about the new format. It received investments from big names in the industry, like Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and ESPN.
However, Daily Fantasy Sports faced strict regulatory issues, and DraftStreet was eventually acquired by longtime rival DraftKings in 2014. The merger allowed DraftKings to take over DraftStreet's product offerings and user base.
Although DraftStreet is no longer in operation, its unique business model and early success is still remembered by fans of Daily Fantasy Sports.
