Who is Robert Merrill?

Robert Merrill was an American actor who appeared in TV commercials and was known for his role in the Diet Coke Break campaign in the late 1990s. He was born in the United States and had a varied career before entering the world of acting and modelling.

Merrill started his professional life as a baseball player, but later became a lawyer. He then transitioned to the international modelling world and starred in various TV commercials. He was a well-known actor in commercials for Diet Coke, a brand of Coca-Cola, in the late 1990s.

Merrill appeared in two commercials for Diet Coke Break, a campaign that returned in 1997 with two new commercials. In the first of these, titled "11.30 Appointment," he portrayed a man keeping women on time for their appointments. The commercials were a hit with audiences and cemented Merrill's status as a popular commercial actor.

Aside from acting, Merrill was also a talented songwriter and wrote music and lyrics for various Broadway musicals. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 74.
