Who is Rick Astley?

Rick Astley is a British singer, songwriter, and radio personality who rose to fame in the late 1980s with his hit song "Never Gonna Give You Up." However, despite his success in the music industry, Astley has also dabbled in the world of acting, particularly in commercials.

One of Astley's more famous commercial appearances was in a 2016 ad campaign for Australian beer company, Carlton Draught. The ad featured Astley singing his hit song, "Never Gonna Give You Up," before being interrupted by a delivery driver who offers him a cold beer. Upon accepting the beer, Astley breaks into a new verse, singing about the refreshing taste of the beer.

Astley's appearance in the Carlton Draught commercial was not his only foray into commercial acting. In 2019, he starred in another commercial, this time for online fashion retailer, Very. The ad featured Astley singing a version of his hit song, but with new lyrics that showcased some of the clothing items available on the Very website.

Despite his relatively limited number of commercial acting roles, Astley is still remembered for his iconic music career and his involvement in internet culture through the phenomenon of "Rickrolling."
