Who is Peggy Lipton?

Peggy Lipton was a renowned American actress and model, who was best known for her work in TV shows, films, and commercials. She was born on August 30th, 1946 in New York City, and her full name was Margaret Ann Lipton. Peggy started her acting career in the early 1960s when she appeared in various TV shows such as 'Bewitched', 'The John Forsythe Show', and 'The Alfred Hitchcock Hour'.

Peggy became a household name in the late '60s, thanks to her role as Julie Barnes on the hit TV show, 'The Mod Squad'. Julie Barnes was one of the three leads of the show, which aired from 1968 to 1973. Peggy's portrayal of the "hippie" undercover cop earned her four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe award.

Peggy also had a successful career in commercials, which included being the face of Clairol's 'Nice 'n Easy' hair color for several years. Her sultry voice and striking beauty made her a favorite among advertisers, and she starred in various campaigns throughout her career.

In addition to her acting and modeling work, Peggy was also a talented singer and released a few albums during the 1970s. She continued to act in movies and TV shows throughout the '80s and '90s, appearing in 'Twin Peaks', 'Crash', and 'The Postman', among others.

Sadly, Peggy passed away on May 11th, 2019, at the age of 72, after a battle with cancer. She will always be remembered for her groundbreaking work on 'The Mod Squad' and her captivating performances in commercials, movies, and TV shows.
