Who is Katia Krafft?

Katia Krafft was a French volcanologist and commercial actress who gained fame in the 1970s and 1980s for her commercials for Renault, a French car manufacturer. She studied geology and volcanology, and her work took her to some of the most dangerous volcanic sites in the world. Her passion for volcanoes was evident in her commercials, where she frequently appeared with smoke and ash in the background.

Although Katia was best known for her work in advertising, she was also a respected volcanologist who made significant contributions to the field. Along with her husband Maurice, she studied and documented hundreds of volcanoes over the course of her career.
