Who is Chevy Chase?

Chevy Chase is an American actor, writer, comedian and producer. Born on October 8, 1943, in New York City, Chase began his entertainment career in the late 1960s as a writer and performer on comedy sketch shows such as "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" and "The National Lampoon Radio Hour". He soon moved on to star in his own television show "The Chevy Chase Show" which ran from 1977-1978.

Chase's big break came in the form of a role on "Saturday Night Live" in 1975. For three seasons, Chase portrayed numerous memorable characters including the dim-witted Weekend Update anchor and the bumbling President Gerald Ford. His physical comedy and charming, yet irreverent humor quickly made him a fan favorite among SNL viewers.

Outside of SNL, Chase found success on the big screen, starring in many films such as "Caddyshack," "Fletch," and "National Lampoon's Vacation". He was particularly successful in the 80s and 90s as one of Hollywood's leading comedic actors.

In recent years, Chase has turned to commercials, appearing in national ad campaigns for companies such as Doritos, T-Mobile and The Hartford. His wit and charm have helped him move from the big screen to the small screen and back again, cementing his place as one of the most versatile entertainers of our time.
